And We Have Our PRESIDENT SNOW!

Congrats to Donald Sutherland for landing the role of President Snow in The Hunger Games! Although I didn't really have him pictured as my President Snow, I think he will do a GREAT job! I've seen him in Fierce People with a young Kristen Stewart .. very good movie!
LOS ANGELES, CA, May 31, 2011- Lionsgate® and the filmmakers of THE HUNGER GAMES are pleased to announce that Donald Sutherland has been cast in the role of President Snow in the much anticipated film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel.

SUTHERLAND, star of such iconic films as M*A*S*H, Ordinary People , Klute and Kelly’s Heroes, will next be seen in this summer’s comedy, Horrible Bosses and recently starred in The Mechanic with Jason Statham and Ben Foster, The Eagle with Channing Tatum and the highly-successful long form adaptation of Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth.

About The Role
President Snow has been the autocratic ruler of Panem and its contained districts for some 25 years at the outset of the story. With a snake-like appearance, he is cruel and ruthless in his intimidation and control tactics.

More Set Locations Announced

More information of the various locations of The Hunger Games set locations have slowly been announced thanks to a local news anchor.
News anchor Russ Bowen has been sharing his exclusive details in regards to Hunger Games filming in North Carolina.
He has now released more information in regards to filming at a new location -
  • Preparations for filming began in May but shooting will take place between June 20 through 30
  • The N. Fork Reservoir in Black Mountain is the site. Asheville is taking measures to ensure filming is protected
  • It appears that most of the arena scenes will be shot in Asheville as will most of the explosions and fire
    • This includes the blowing up of the bag of apples scene
    • But its in a location no one will have access to which is probably a good idea
  • The exciting explosive lake scenes in the arena will be filmed in Asheville
  • Part of arena to be shot in Dupont state forest. Forget about trying to find where though
Russ always gives great details on filming while still respecting the privacy of the film .. we love him for that!
